R. William Taylor, breed expert and a leading authority on Pekingese, said when he judged The Pekin Palace Dog Association Championship Show:

"Champion StSanja Step by Step.  A superb dog of excellent size, type and shadiness.  On top of all the essentials he has the most gorgeous coat of correct texture and flowing fringes.".

At this show, Step by Step (Joey) was awarded the Dog Challenge Certificate and Best in Show from a record entry of 170 which included many quality champions.  R. William Taylor's closing sentence of his critique says:

"In this company he stood away".
